Abstract

This This study aims to determine (1) the use of the internet as a learning medium (2) to fulfill information
needs in managing patchouli farming in Langku-Langku Village, Tiworo Tengah District, Muna Barat Regency.
Informants in this study are patchouli farmers who know information technology. Data analysis used a descriptive
method by describing the phenomena found in the field with the data collection process with a flow of stages (data
reduction, data presentation, inference and verification. The results of the study found that the use of the internet
as a learning medium in patchouli farming in Langku-Langku Village, Tiworo Tengah District, Muna Barat Regency,
namely as a communication medium, information source media, file exchange, and community utilization media
can be categorized as good. Fulfilling the information needs of farmers in patchouli farming by using online media
(internet) ranging from information on good land management, nursery methods, planting time information,
information on patchouli care, information on good harvesting and drying methods, distillation processes, market
information, until the production technology information can be fulfilled properly.
